The Skye Terrier

The Skye terrier originated in the 16th century in Scotland on the islands of Skye.

They are couragous, strong and agile dogs are well suited for hunting and small game. They are absolutly loyal and one of them visited its master's grave for ten years, until its own death.

They need a lot of attention from their owner. Early socialization and obedience training is recommanded. They do well with children if they are raised with them and treated with respect. They are fine city dogs if exercised daily, but can chase cats and other small animals.

Skye terriers need to be brushed daily to avoid matting and trimmed every three months if necessairy. They need good daily exercise and occasional runs in secured areas.
