The English setter

The English setter was originally bred has hunting dog in the 16th century for bird setting and retrieving.

English setters are the gentlest and sweetest of the setters. The get along with adults, children, dogs, and other animals.

They do best in quiet households and need regular exercie and playtime, not a dog to leave alone in the backyard.

The require firm but patient and gentle handling, though their hunting instincts can make obedience training difficult. Training should start early. They do best in the country, where they can get a lot of exercise and they are not really suited for the city life, unless they can get plenty of exercice.

Height: 24-25 inches
Weight: 50-70 lbs.
Life Span: 12-14 yrs.
