The Giant Schnauzer

Giant schnauzers make excellent police and guard dogs. They are large, powerful, and need experienced owners and early obedience training.

Some giant schnauzers get along well with other dogs and cats, but some are very aggressive. They must be well-socialized from puppyhood.

They are spirited, intelligent and alert. Watchful, courageous, easily trained, deeply loyal to family and playful. The sound, reliable temperament, rugged build make for one of the most useful, powerful, and enduring working breeds.

Giant schnauzers should be brushed and combed twice a week and trimmed every three months. They need good long daily walks.

Height: 23-27 inches
Weight: 70-95 lbs.
Life Span: 11-13 yrs.
