The Great Pyrenees
They are calm, gentle and loyal dogs. They are also independent and need early obedience training. Pyrenees are territorial, and protective, and may be wary of strangers and unknown dogs, so they make good watchdogs. The Great Pyrenees must be brushed daily to prevent matting. Also known as the Pyrenean Mountain Dog, the Great Pyrenees was used
for centuries to protect sheep, goats, and cattle from wolves and bears
in the Pyrenees Mountains of France.
