The Puli
Like a few other herding breeds, it jumps on or over the backs of the sheep while moving them around. Pulik (plural of Puli) are intelligent, loyal and agile and respond well to training. Vigorous, active, and alert, the puli is a good companion dog but usually does not make a good choice of pet for children. They get along with other animals if raised with them, but might try to herd them. Pulik are wary of strangers and will bark to alert, so they make good watchdogs. They can live in the city as long as they get enough exercise. This coat does not shed and is often left in its natural state. The strands need to be separated from time to time. They can be bathed if necessary but disturb the cords as little as possible. If trimmed short, they must be brushed every other day or matting will occur. Pulik are energetic and lively and require a lot of exercise, but take it easy on hot days. Height: 15-18 inches Photo courtesy of www.corbis.com Click on the links below to get to a region.
