The Newfoundland

 

The Newfoundland was developed on its namesake island in the 18th century to haul fishing nets and pull carts.

They are sweet-tempered, devoted companions for children, and multipurpose dogs as well as good guard dogs.

The Newfoundland is capable of draft work and possesses natural lifesaving abilities.These dogs can be heavy droolers.

Newfoundlands need brushing weekly, more often when shedding. They need long walks and they love to swim.

Height: 26-28 inches
Weight: 100-150 lbs.
Life Span: 8-10 yrs.
