The Gordon setter

the Gordon setters were used in 17th-century Scotland by hunter for tracking, pointing, and retrieving.

The Gordon Setter is a good-sized, strong built, black and tan dog, well muscled. The are active, upstanding and stylish, appearing capable of doing a full day's work in the field.

Gordon setters are very affectionate with their families but reserved with strangers. They need obedience training and diverse social contact at early age to avoid behavior problems. They need a firm, gentle hand and lots of praise. They can be aggressive with other dogs (but generally get along with other types of animals) and can be good barking watchdogs.

Gordon setters need to be brushed and combed a few times a week. They need daily exercise.

Height: 23-27 inches
Weight: 45-80 lbs.
Life Span: 10-12 yrs.
