The Field Spaniel

The field spaniel was developed in the 19th century in England to hunt and retrieve birds and other small animals.

The Field Spaniel is one of the most affectionate of all the spaniels and a wonderful family companion.

These dogs get along with children, cats and other animals, if introduced to them at an early age and if treated with respect.

They are good with strangers, though they might bark to alert of their presence. The field spaniel is intelligent and easy to train.

The field spaniel needs to be brushed two to three times a week. Even though the field spaniel is a sporting dog, it does well in the city if exercised properly. These dogs need good long walks a chance to run in a secure area regularly.

Height: 17-18 inches
Weight: 35-50 lbs.
