The Bull Terrier

Bull Terriers were developed in Britain by crossing Bulldogs and a variety of terriers, including the now extinc White terrier. They were used for fighting, and were prized for their courage, agility and tenacity.

Bull terriers are sweet, energetic, playful dogs that require a lot of attention and love from their families. They need attention and if they are ignored, behavioral problems may develop. They make excellent watchdog.

Early obedience classes and socialization with children, adults, and other animals are recommended. It is not recommanded to play aggressive games with bull terriers. They need a firm but gentle training. They are usually friendly to strangers, but always walk them on a leash to avoid confrontations with other dogs, as they may cause serious injury or death to other dogs.

The smooth, short coat is easy to groom. They require a lot of play and exercise, but they adapt well to urbain life if they have enough exercice.

Height: 21-22 inches
Weight: 50-60 lbs.
Life Span: 11-13 yrs.
