The Border Terrier


Once known as the Reedwater Terrier, the Border terrier evolved in the rugged border country between England and Scotland. They were breed to hunt small animals and foxes. They are hard-working hunting dog and will cross any obstacle and water. Border Terriers are good watch dog.

They are the most affectionate of all terriers and loves to play with children. Reliable and intelligent, Border Terriers are easily trained, obedient and sensible. The are usually not aggresive with other dogs but may chase cats and other small animals. Border terriers do best with early obedience training.

The wiry coat needs little grooming. Border Terriers need plenty of exercice, as they were breed to hunt and have great vitality, but they can also adapt to a more relaxed lifestyle.

Weight: 11-14 lbs.
Life Span: 13-15 yrs.
