The Burmese


With a rich, glossy brown coat and big gold eyes and a great personality, the Burmese is one cat that you will not forget. Burmese are the ultimate companion cats. They love being with people and playing with people.

They are very intelligent and have strong personalities. Easy to look after, playful and tolerant of children, they are said to be "the perfect cat".

Although these cats have been recorded in their country of origin for about 500 years, the modern breed has been developed in US only since 1930. The fondation cats were an Oriental-type female called Wong Mau, imported from Burma and a seal point Siamese.
